Pros

Lots of available PTO, meaningful work with youth

Cons

When I worked there, leadership in my program was incredibly toxic and manipulative. There is an overall problem with salary structure. Oasis is happy to let full-time employees have to work two jobs just to pay their bills while adding new high level positions that pay $70,000+. Very high turnover rate.

Pros

They care about their employees.

Cons

It's a nonprofit dependent on grants and individual funding so your job isn't completely secure.

Pros

I had a wonderful experience working with the young people and enjoyed parts of the work itself. The various programs are essential and staff at large is accepting of people from all backgrounds and identities.

Cons

The overall environment was challenging. There was obvious favoritism, which made growth nearly impossible. Expectations changed often with the goals feeling like they were constantly shifting, this made it hard for me to know what success looked like. Feedback was inconsistent, and communication from leadership could have been so much clearer. The culture made it difficult to thrive, especially for those who are not in the inner circle. Hopefully with more focus on fairness, consistency, and clear communication, the environment can improve for future staff.
