Pros

Decent pay, good people in general. Respected within medical community.

Cons

Med-Surg floor/5:1 ratio too high, not nearly enough techs and the patients all require a high level of care. Accu checks on almost every patent AC and HS with many max assist patients is absolutely impossible to pass meds on time, chart CORRECTLY and PROVIDE QUALITY care. I feel so sorry for the patients. I was not able to provide the care I am very capable of because I was always forced to cut corners and make compromises in care. Also, certain areas require you to wear a TRACKING DEVICE! They tell you it is to monitor hand washing.hah! The device looks NOTHING like the small devices that are designed specifically for hand washing and do not work that way. The ones OU have monitor every movement and tell exactly where you are every minute..5 minutes here, 3 minutes here...the secretary informed me that I had been in the break room for longer than 7 minutes and accused me of trying to take a second lunch! Then when I was on lunch, (which you must CLOCK OUT FOR 30 MINUTE LUNCHES, ), the manager was able to find me on my lunch break in a quite place working on my homework ! I believe where I am on my lunch break is MY BUSINESS as long as follows hospital policy. That was the final straw...I went and hid the device behind a trash can and quit.

Pros

Workplace Culture and Team Collaboration: Many employees appreciate the supportive, family-like atmosphere and strong teamwork within their teams and across departments. They value the camaraderie, inclusivity, and mutual respect that foster a positive work environment focused on patient care. Meaningful Work and Patient Impact: Employees find motivation and satisfaction in knowing their work directly or indirectly improves patient care and community health. This sense of purpose is a significant driver of engagement.

Cons

Degree Requirements and Career Advancement: Many employees express concern that strict degree requirements, especially for IT roles, hinder career progression and demoralize experienced staff without degrees. There is a strong preference for recognizing equivalent experience or certifications in lieu of formal degrees to promote internal mobility and retain talent.

Pros

Friendly co-workers, ample PTO, pay is fair after several adjustments over the last few years.

Cons

For an entity that shares its name with a school, they do not invest much in education, unfortunately. Inconsistent, poorly-trained managers hiring friends and family, very high turnover. In 6 years, I never once worked on a fully-staffed team.
