Pros

Being part of the HR/People Team at OCU Group has been an energising and insightful experience. The organisation is in a period of rapid growth, which makes the work challenging but highly rewarding. There is a strong emphasis on values, fairness, and employee experience, which is reflected across the Group. * Leadership is visible, supportive, and committed to embedding values across the organisation. The CEO and senior leaders are highly respected, and there is genuine focus on building trust and inclusion. *The People Team works cohesively, sharing knowledge and supporting each other, particularly during periods of high operational demand. *Seeing structured programs like apprentices and graduates go live is rewarding and demonstrates long-term investment in talent.

Cons

Rapid growth and legislative changes create high-pressure moments, meaning workload and priorities can shift quickly, requiring constant balancing.

Pros

Salary was acceptable but minimal benefits

Cons

No sick pay beyond statutory Notice period massively skewed towards the business. A business that is based on hiring and firing as quickly as possible. Everything when you sign the contract is on a company website you cannot see or review.

Pros

Lots of growth opportunities and company is performing well financially becoming billion pound international company.

Cons

Very old school old boy culture. Lacks genuine management and senior leadership capability. Very inflexible and inauthentic when it comes to how they actually treat people and as long as they're making money then they don't really care. They know this about themselves and are comfortable with it so the culture is unlikely to change. Very poor benefits, especially pension, holidays and there's no company sick pay - it's up to individual manager discretion so depends if your face fits or if you're related to someone in management. Things are really inefficient. People who raise concerns don't stay around for long and the attitude is if you don't like it go elsewhere so there's a lot of turnover of staff. They especially like to make people become contractors so they can get rid of them easier.
