At the mercy of your location manager. Not great pay. - Crop Consultant Nutrien Employee Review

Pros

Awesome benefits. PTO was a little bit lacking, 2 weeks until you hit your 5 year mark, if I remember right. Then they give you another week.

Cons

At the location level, your experience here is really going to be dependent on your location manager. If you have problems, do not expect any help from up above. Location manager also decides how a bonus is divided (if a location bonus is earned). They of course glean the largest percentage, and distribute the rest as they see fit. The 'safety culture' is just meaningless words. I had an injury that required a doc visit, and the safety guy at the location would not give me information for workers comp, or let me report it, as he didn't want it on his record. In this case, I did get help from HR, since I forced the issue higher. Pay was ok for industry standard once you got some experience, but what they offer the new guys is a joke. I had a bad experience in a very toxic, dangerous work environment, but there are other locations with very content, even happy employees with company pride.

Collaborative but individual work too. A lot of traveling to different sites

Cons

Individual work requires being open minded and doing own research or experimentation

Pros

For the area, the pay is decent.

Cons

Management that does not care about the people. No flexibility in working anywhere other than the plant. Outsiders hired before qualified employees. Another merger/selling on the horizon - memo sent out to employees and then they were told it would not happen in 2026. Big changes happen every year such as benefits reduced, people being moved from one position to the other, employees getting fired after one small mistake instead of a warning as it used to be, corporate people leaving/getting fired.
