Pros
Treats employees exceptionally well; Pay is at or above par for most roles; Good benefits; Great co-workers; Honest effort from almost all; The hard work people exhibit at the company is the reason things gets done; People genuinely care about customers and the industry; Trying to improve in all areas and investing in technology and people
Cons
Lack of strategic direction beyond press releases; The hard work of people is pretty much the only reason anything works, systems and controls are lacking; Slow to innovate in all areas due to bureaucracy and accounting constraints; Focus on P&L's hinders truly innovative work as leaders bicker over who pays for a line item; Incredibly silo'd between business units (often working and spending on the same thing without coordination); Hiring processes leave much to be desired in finding diverse candidates, No women or PoC in any retail leadership roles; Lack of transparency around compensation; Just general big-company bloat; "Innovative" groups don't actually talk to anyone in the field before buying things or making changes; General training and on-the-job formal teaching is almost non-existent; Who's even in charge of this company?
