Pros
Location is good for those looking for a job in the east end. Free parking on site, and TTC accessible. As for the atmosphere it can be good. There are a lot of really great people here that can make your breaks more enjoyable. They match what their employees put into their RRSP up to a certain percent of their salary, however this is mandatory that you save into your RRSP. They pay overtime after 37.5 hours, which is really nice. However they don't let you work overtime very often. Attire is business casual for the office, so pretty much a nice and tidy outfit, however no jeans. (this review is based on the office admin department. There are numerous departments in this company as it is a testing laboratory.)
Cons
Management (especially in the admin office) doesn't know what they are doing. The majority of people in the admin dept. will stab you in the back the first chance they get to make themselves look better. Management hires unqualified people (because they refuse to offer a decent pay) and does not know how to train them. They run the office kind of like a jail, everything is watched over and you have to take your very scheduled breaks exactly at the same time everyday, so if you're not hungry at lunch time, oh well. Lunch is only 30 minutes and there is not much around to eat making your breaks always rushed. If someone mentions to management something that is making them unhappy or frustrated, it is ignored and continues to happen. If you try and go above and beyond you're immediately stunted and told not to do so, instead of being thanked for doing a great job. If someone with a higher seniority than you makes a complaint, it is believed even if you have proof that it is not true. They do not treat people equally, so if you're hardworking and call in sick, you get the cold shoulder because they need you in the office (everyone gets sick, it happens). If you are lazy and unproductive, they don't care if you call in sick, they let you get away with being lazy and give the remaining work to the productive people, even if those people say they have too much to do at the moment. They expect you to do more work than others because you're capable. Which can be a good thing because they trust you, however it is not good when it is because your coworkers are slacking and getting away with it. Simply not fair. The benefits are not good and you have to pay for them yourself (approx. $80/month for single coverage). The pay is low for the amount of work they expect you to produce, you are told a salary number, however they divide that into an hourly wage and if you have to leaave early you're deducted the amount of time you're gone. Management has tantrums and will not talk to you for 3 days if you're ill and have a sick day, or make a mistake, or ask to leave a bit early for a doctors appointment. These are all things that happen to humans, they should not shun you because of it.
