Pros

Decent pay Some training reimbursement Had nice company events for a bit Got to work remote (though this is likely being phased out with new positions) Met some really cool people in the trenches here Respectful of lgbtq+ identities and people

Cons

Management asks for feedback but doesn't seem to take action on it. Larger issues like consistently being understaffed, undertrained, and resulting client issues result in blame to the current staff and inconsequential fixes like a reorg. Proper tools like a sandbox or role training aren't considered priorities. Dont expect too much help as it's usually not in the scope of other teams and therefore not their concern. Some benefits seem indicative of a pump and dump situation Management doesn't understand they need people to provide the services they ravenously sell

We are glad you hear that you felt that we have some really cool people here at NuHarbor. We agree! NuHarbor is a growing company and that means a lot of change. Change takes time and it can be frustrating. Protect the House is our first value for a reason. It means transparency around our decisions and while everyone doesn’t always agree, visibility into decisions, changes in our organization structure and our training priorities, intend to ensure the Crew understands those decisions. We continue to invest in technology and automation and the work our Crew does continues to evolve so that the work is more interesting and meaningful all the time. Protect the House, Help Clients Win, Always Improve. These values guide how we work. It reflects that we can be kind and hold each accountable, we have a passion for helping our clients and their end-customers and we recognize that we must always continue to learn and improve, especially in the field of cybersecurity.

Pros

- decent benefits: time-off, volunteer hours, immediate vesting - coworkers/management: hardworking, transparent, and mostly good peeps all around

Cons

- healthcare could be cheaper - transparency from leadership - we can always ask questions... but it seems like we have to wait for company wide meetings to find out big changes. - pay

Thank you for your feedback! We agree that our coworkers are amazing and transparent and all work together to ensure we take care of our clients. Healthcare is a challenge for everyone... no doubt about it. In 2026 we provide more choices on how you split between premiums and copay/coinsurance. We believe it's a good move for everyone. Communication is a challenge, always. And, your point about more continuous communication vs. company meetings is a good one. We'll take that into consideration as we work to improve. Regarding wages, we are transparent about the processes we use to determine salary and we consider the location of each person in that process. Please reach out to your manager or to People & Culture if you have a question about your pay. We'll always make time to listen and discuss.

Pros

There are talented people doing their best, but the system they’re operating in makes it harder than it should be.

Cons

Priorities change constantly with little follow-through, which leads to rework and a steady stream of unfinished initiatives. There’s also a lack of clear operational standards, processes are inconsistent, documentation is limited, and teams often end up solving the same problems repeatedly. Layoffs are a recurring theme and happen often enough to feel cyclical. In a smaller organization, even modest reductions are noticeable, and over time it creates a baseline level of uncertainty. Leadership gaps are significant and span multiple functions, and when things don’t go as planned, the response is restructuring rather than addressing root causes. Gaps between teams often lead to misalignment between what’s sold and what can actually be delivered, which means engineering gets pulled into late-stage conversations or asked to support commitments that weren’t fully thought through. You’ll also see responses here pointing to cybersecurity being a “fast-moving” or “rapidly growing” industry. While that’s true, here it functions as a convenient explanation that places the burden on employees to “keep up” instead of addressing leadership and planning gaps. If you’re interviewing, ask about turnover and layoffs. The answers will be informative. This environment expects a very high level of performance with minimal support or structure. In practice, even highly experienced or exceptionally skilled individuals will find it difficult to succeed consistently.

Thank you for sharing your input. It's always a great idea to ask about reviews and experiences like this when interviewing. We're happy to chat about it. You are correct, the changes in the industry do precipitate changes internally. We continue to strengthen how we communicate and support these changes as a growing company.
