Pros

Decent pay for an athletic trainer. Hours and schedule are great for personal life, but that's about it.

Cons

Only way to advance is getting into management, and even then, it depends on who you know and how much they like you. Management also doesn't care how hard you work, they value Press Ganey scores over employee happiness. They will write you up a dozen times for being 1 minute late, but never notice hard work or even work anniversaries. If a patient says anything that's remotely negative about you or resembles a complaint, you have to go through training and make an "action plan" so you can align your behavior with their values. All of it is a joke. Management pushes a completely different set of values than what actually happens in their clinic. STAY AWAY!

Pros

Of all the companies I have worked for Novant has been the best experience. I moved back into leadership after years of having stepped back from leadership due to burnout and frustration. Novant invests more than any company I have seen in both frontline and leader development, with cohesive messaging about priorities. I truly enjoy the teams I work with.

Cons

IT was moved to overseas a few years back. They back-pedaled on this and moved some aspects back to domestic coverage, but overall, I can't see where this improves operational efficiency despite surface level savings.

Pros

I had a great experience as a Research Assistant at Novant Health. The team was welcoming, collaborative, and supportive of learning. I gained valuable experience in clinical research, data collection, patient interactions, and working alongside healthcare professionals. The environment encouraged professional growth, and I appreciated the opportunity to contribute to meaningful research while developing skills that will benefit my future career in healthcare.

Cons

Depending on the project, the workload could fluctuate, and some tasks were repetitive, such as data entry and documentation. However, these responsibilities are a normal part of research and helped reinforce attention to detail.
