Pros
Novant Health has been a breath of fresh air for my work life balance. Healthcare is a demanding field but this organization understands that in order to take care of people, they have to take care of their people. During my first vacation, I was encouraged to completely unplug from email and focus on recharging. This is unheard of at many other organizations including my last one where it was required to check-in on mission-critical tasks. I was completely burned out so this was a needed change. I've never felt like a number and everyone's voice matters. Team members are encouraged to speak up when it comes to the remarkable patient experience and pause when they have concerns. I have seen team members suggest ideas or bring up concerns to the CEO and top executives at town hall style meetings and can see the positive impacts of those ideas as they come to fruition. I'm not only a team member but also a patient, and it's truly amazing to see the remarkable patient experience in action. Nurses, doctors, PA's, and front desk team members all treat me and my family with care and compassion. Novant Health has been an incredible fit for me personally and I recommend jobs to people I have worked with. It continues to be an organization that I'm proud to come into work each day and make a difference!
Cons
Projects can sometimes take a long time to implement. Novant Health moves pretty quickly for healthcare but just not fast enough as some other organizations. I have seen changes made to IT in the past year that show we are moving faster, and I hope that trend continues.
