Pros
25 days holiday a year plus bank holidays
Employee Assistance Program
Perkbox: an employee benefits platform
free parking (is that a benefit technically?)
Newly refurbished building (really a benefit for the employee?)
Cons
High turnover of staff, in fact the highest i have ever seen. Keeping an eye out for another vacancy (that says a lot) i noticed this vacancy comes up literally every few months due to staff leaving.
Management are very keen to keep employees as exactly that despite the "gloss" of the benefits. When it comes to the crunch and things are busy managers will treat employees as no better than a machine that they can turn the speed up on. Overtime is often expected and high pressure to do so.
HR are lacklustre (what a shocker) During the pre interview process they put a lot of faith in an online "assessment" which right off the bat came across as weak and like i say lacklustre, dispassionate, yes that is a good word and was there all the way through the interview process and the ongoing employment.
Although they tote a benefit as a newly refurbished factory, that suits management and importantly output, not necessarily the employees.
To sum up your just a cog to get the product out the door and are treated as such. There are almost 0 spaces to advance into, people on the shop floor never advance and most don't stay there long enough to anyway.
Salary is average to low and was not at any time disclosed until after a contract was seen (that should ring alarm bells)
I was keen to get out of there from early doors.
