Good for beginning experience, Negative resignation though. - Controls Engineer NorthWind Technical Services Employee Review

Pros

The control engineers during my time were often right out of college, so I feel like it's a place that's likely to take a person with little relevant experience if they have a related degree and are okay with the tiny town. They paid for related training and certifications for me. There were multiple social events/celebrations per year where you bonded with others in the company.

Cons

When I put in my two weeks, they informed me that my last day was that same day. Startups took me away from family for a little bit of extra compensation that I didn't feel was worth it. Especially because often my trips lasted significantly longer than expected (I had one that lasted around roughly a month instead of the estimated week), and required 12ish hour days onsite. My management told me that spending significantly extended hours in office in order to get a project out on time was doing what was expected, and was not going above and beyond.

Pros

I really enjoyed my 6 years at Northwind. The owner was very supportive and fair. Always open to suggestions or personal issues. The work was plentiful and deadlines realistic. The benefits were good and HR was always helpful with questions.

Cons

I really can't think of anything other than some co-worker personalities can be difficult to get along with. However, Management's support was always there.
