      Pros

      This is the ultimate startup out of central casting: a family and ex-google engineers near Silicon Valley. There is a lot of passion for making this pet food company work into a successful company and it has done well. There is also a decent amount of freedom to do your job and all the people are really nice.

      Cons

      The CEO is very hands-off; almost comically so. Long work hours and the non-CS team (engineering, marketing, accounting etc) is way understaffed so it’s all about “priority”. If they had more people it would be less of an issue, but they are worried about the burn.

      The pay isn’t bad depending on your location

      If you want to move up in management, start plotting like I did to steal their job or you’ll forever be stuck at the bottom. It’s a failing business with a turnover rate so high Snoop Dogg would be jealous, three more years tops
