Pros
Very smart, dedicate folks sincerely focused on doing important work to benefit the public. Serious commitment to staff development and internal research programs. Excellent benefits. Despite being primarily government contracts, the non-profit focus is real and it's a genuinely positive culture (unlike many beltway firms).
Cons
Majority of work is on government contracts, with all that that entails; good for some people and not for others. Occasional reassignment is necessary as contracts change.
