Pros

Decent pay if you fight for it

Cons

- disorganized management from the top to mid-level. A lot of people who don’t know what they’re doing and are way more concerned with optics than their actual duties. That includes optics from the outside the company and also how their own bosses see them. - attribution issues. Mid and even senior management will work staff to the bone and then take full credit with no thanks. The work you put into a project does not translate to your own career advancement, but that of your boss. - clique problem. Senior management plays favourites. This contributes to the issue where people will take credit for others work and not attribute properly so that they’re on the c-suite’s radar instead of someone else. It also means that people who clearly don’t know what they’re doing get promotions and even bigger responsibilities they can’t perform and thrust on others. - “hustle culture” the c-suite has invested their money and lives in the business, and they expect everyone else to work 12 hour days as a result. You know the meme about how if a company says “we’re a family here” they just want to run you ragged for little thanks? This is one of those.
