Pros

Initially they talk a lot about culture but it doesn't take 3 months in a job to realise this is a lie. They also say it's fun to work for a start-up 'to shape the way the business can go'... when does it stop becoming a start-up? when you can't get grants from warwick uni.

Cons

Bonus' that are promised, then they vanish to sandbanks so they don't have to answer questions. No autonomy in your department. Simon still hasn't found his place in the business so likes to micromanage each department, leaving a trail of inexperienced disasters as he goes. And of course, it's everyone else's fault. Spent everyones bonus on an external consultant who basically told simon and paul the same feedback their staff had been giving them for months, Cheers lads! Patronising trips to the park for team building and the occasional just-eat order to stop everyone moaning. Needless to say they won't consider investing in any real sum's of the money. Pay staff 10,000 under the regional average for their roles - just google it. Their staff retention figures reflect that of a PPI call centre. No career progression - has anyone ever been promoted, ever? or is just demotions and belittling people.

Pros

The concept of the product is nice to sell and you can work from home

Cons

Toxic management team who bully and play people against each other, always talking indiscreetly about your team members abilities and their thoughts on them personally, even about the company owners. Unprofessionalism and being spoken to disrespectfully Poor communication on things like policy and commission, always finding new ways to make it harder to earn commission and underpay Product behind the curve with competitors and the product doesn't do what it's supposed to, always being told updates are happening which either don't, or are poorly executed. No culture and complete fear of management Some lowlights were being told to get a calculator out and told to figure out how much you 'cost' the business and ask yourself if you're 'worth it' and being blind called at 5.29 for a 5.30 finish to check if you are still working and called out for taking a lunch break.

Pros

Product ‘was’ good, not now Battle-hardened team, leaving in droves

Cons

Weak & untrustworthy Co-CEO’s (constant battle for who’s the bigger brother). Long-term toxic working environment - people are spoken of in the most derogatory terms. Bullying of female employees. No HR. Constant development delays, which causes reputational harm for the individual. High turnover of staff / staff suddenly ‘disappear’, with no consideration of human aspect or apparent consequence for the business. Product now left far behind by the competition. Constant moving of targets to avoid paying commission which creates enormous resentment from and to leadership.
