Pros

Pay was good, people were your normal mix, the usual perks were available. Some of the work was quite engaging and interesting, and it was a kick to be working for Fortune 500 clients. In the current economy, I look back with especial fondness.

Cons

Here's the rub, which would apply to every major marketing company worldwide which isn't focused on sustainability issues. The work didn't mean anything. Nobody needs to buy more stuff in a world consumed by consumerism. All that power, and we never once did anything green, humanitarian, socially responsible, etc. With the response rates we were getting, some good could have been done in the world.

Pros

-There's some really top shelf people who work here, who are ready to nurture those willing to learn -There's plenty of scope for going out and building your own thing -People genuinely like each other and are pleasant to work with. -No "bro" culture. -Going home at 5pm or even earlier isn't looked down on as long as you're not leaving things half-done, and when workload gets extra heavy people try to help.

Cons

-Managers don't seem to be able to tell who is actually productive -It's difficult to get rid of dead weight -Persistent communication issues between engineering and management

Pros

Its small so it has a feeling of a small family. People are supportive at work and fun to hang out with at leisure. Many could become personal friends. Also because its a small company, you get the chance to get engaged in many different things and take initiatives - as long as you're willing to.

Cons

Company direction is not clear and changes all the time. This can cause the company to miss key timing or trends. Currently the company is undergoing struggles to redefine itself. Many great people were either let go or left, which does change the atmosphere. However on the other hand, if the company can shape things up, it can be a great place to work again.
