Pros

- Hobbies, interests, and life outside of work is celebrated - Pay is competitive and salaries are transparent - Structure is relatively flat and everyone is ready to help - Leadership is strong, caring, and treats everyone with respect and kindness - Async culture/documentation culture is strong and reinforced regularly across disciplines - You can work from anywhere in the world

Cons

If you don't like to work async/remotely it might not be your thing -- but it is my thing and I love it

Pros

- People: wicked smart - Product: interesting, valuable and in many cases critical to Nextmv customers' infra - Benefits/Flexibility/Work-life-balance: excellent (I've worked at many startups and Nextmv does this part very well). All of the above, plus: like with many startups, you have lots of opportunities to have an impact on the product and company; feedback is taken seriously by the product and dev/eng/DS teams; lots of opportunities to learn about the field of Ops Research, which is pretty unique in tech... and definitely interesting and transferrable.

Cons

- It's a series A startup; there are always risks involved. It has it's ups and it's downs, which is something that even huge, public companies have to contend with... they just go about it differently. - Flat reporting structure, which can be chaotic at times, especially during the down-periods. - If you are used to corporate structure and processes, maybe a series A isn't the right mv for you. ;)

Pros

Great coworkers and flexible schedule

Cons

The product is uninteresting to potential customers and the team is starting to feel it. Not a good time to join the company, and a good time to get out before it falls apart for people still there. Be prepared to be constantly talked over in meetings by condescending leaders with big egos. Also, saw several people of color be let go because they "weren't learning fast enough" but it was never clear if their managers gave any feedback or trained them. Across all races in general, strong bias toward giving up on people rather than coaching them.
