Pros

Remote work, decent benefits, and good mission.

Cons

Elitist and overpaid executive team that is called "SLT" (senior leadership team), who does not manage people well or seem to care about us overworked employees. Executives are poor planners and cant make a decision and then the teams are confused about what's going on. A couple of these execs need SERIOUS management training and seem to have little experience managing teams, in fact bordering on being bullys, but no HR or ANYONE to complain to. No chance for growth or acceptance of new ideas, a pretty toxic environemt all around. and big goals that they probably won't meet, but the staff is pressured to make the goals without real leadership from the CEO. Way to much emphasis on revenue vs. the employees

First and most importantly, we want to thank you for your feedback. We are always open to critique, and disheartened to hear these concerns, as well as the fact that you felt you could not bring them to your direct manager. While revenue is of course a priority for us because it funds our mission, everything we do at NextUp is in service to Advancing All Women, and we are dedicated to the culture transformation required to help all employees thrive. We take any allegation of bullying and overwork very seriously, and hope you will be willing to bring your concerns to management so we may address them. We are currently hiring for an HR leader as part of our commitment to supporting our employees and expansion of our team. This individual is expected to be hired soon, and when they are, we very much hope you will bring your concerns directly to them. In the meantime, we encourage you to reach out to your direct manager or another leader you might feel more comfortable speaking with about this, and hope to hear from you so we can address these concerns directly.

Pros

- Fully remote work environment - Opportunities to attend national and regional events - Strong, mission-driven organization

Cons

- Excessive virtual meetings that frequently run over time and often end without clear decisions or actionable next steps - Senior Leadership Team (SLT) members holding dual roles or overseeing departments outside their areas of expertise - Largely absent or ineffective IT and HR teams - Lack of updated training and onboarding resources for new hires - Frequent before/after-hours “urgent” communications from CEO, many of which could reasonably wait until regular business hours.
