Cons
All the positive feedbacks are posted by company itself. Benefits: Salary is calculated with only Basic + HRA + PF. No additional benefit. Also, only Cassual Leave and no Medical, Sick, Annual, Maternal/Paternal, etc. leave. LOP for everything. Appraisal and increments: No formal appraisal process and no annual increment. Holidays: Beware of company’s holiday scam. If you take a day off just before or after a national/public holiday then national/public holiday will be treated as LOP. For example, this year we had Pongal holidays on Tue – Thu. As Pongal is biggest festival in TN people like to visit family etc but if you work for Nextgen and you think of taking Monday or Friday off to have extra time with family avoid train rush etc then you will lose out 3 days pay (Tue – Thu) as LOP. This surely is against company laws but management doesn’t care for anything. Working hours: Official working hours are 9:00AM to 6:00PM with 1 hours as lunch break. Once (or more sometime) in every week you are expected to stay all night to complete work. Basically unrealistic deadlines, ever changing requirement in almost every project means team has to stay late. When you work all night you will not get overtime or compoff but you are expected to work normal on following day like a slave. Employee treatment: It is a common practice that management shouts at you at will for no reason. If an employee is getting married, company is very kind and it will collect from every employee (employer / company will not contribute) but give it as a gift from company. Work: All foreign clients but no scope of onsite travel. Very vague 1 liner requirement without any detail and lots of ambiguity. Client will keep changing mind throughout the course of project. Unrealistic timescale will be set And you are expected to deliver within timescale exactly what client wished for even if it is impossible. Tip for future employees: If you are joining here then be prepared for… Compromising family life No increment for years Loosing self-esteem (shouting management) Loosing out the technology and dev skills
