Terrible, terrible management - Recruitment Consultant Next Phase Recruitment Employee Review

Pros

The team are lovely and get along super well and are mostly supportive of eachother. Offer incentives as well as additional bonuses like free lunch etc. They offer flexible working, menstrual leave, work from home as well as commission.

Cons

Unfortunately the leadership team are very poor. The CEO is extremely rude and has made multiple members of staff cry. He once told me “I would be much better off shutting my mouth” as well as “stupid blonde”. He inflicts his mood on everyone else which unfortunately creates an uncomfortable environment to work in. In the space of my time working there I have seen over 8 members of staff come and go. It’s a genuine shame as the individuals are lovely but the rudeness by management was disgusting. Since leaving, I have heard multiple things that have been said about me which have been foul.

Thank you for the feedback and we are happy to hear you enjoyed working with the team & the company benefits & incentives we have in place. We always welcome constructive feedback, no matter how direct and are continually looking to learn as a company. We obviously strongly contest elements of this review and the factual inaccuracies detailed, however can recognise that recruitment isn't the right career choice for everyone and can be very challenging particularly when you find yourself significantly behind your targets. As a company we pride ourselves in treating everyone with respect and taking a people first approach in everything we do. We wish you every success in your future career.

Pros

I can confidently say it's a fantastic place to grow. From day one, I felt welcomed and supported, with thorough training that set me up for success. The commission structure is fair, and there are regular incentives that make the job rewarding. The leadership team strikes a great balance between guidance and autonomy, giving me ownership of my desk while always being available for support when needed. What stands out most is the culture, I’ve developed so much professionally thanks to the clear progression path and the chance to learn from experienced colleagues and leadership. It’s been great so far, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.

Cons

Target-driven environments can be high-pressure at times and success requires resilience and self-motivation. Not ideal for those who prefer a slower or more structured pace.

Pros

Offers excellent ongoing training and development, from day one, and continues to offer throughout your career. They're genuinely invested in helping you grow professionally, with mentorship across the team and clear pathways to advance your career. The environment is smaller and more personal, meaning you're not just a number - your contributions are valued by both peers and leadership, in all aspects of the job. It offers a strong work-life balance, with both work-from-home days and flexibility on working hours, which I feel is important in a fast-paced environment like recruitment. This flexibility creates a healthy routine that helps to avoid burnout and keeps you motivated and productive throughout the week.

Cons

High accountability: You're given a lot of ownership and responsibility early on, which is a testament to how they trust in your ability. It can sometimes get overwhelming, but when voiced, you are offered additional support, accelerating your development.
