Pros

NeXt I.T. provides exposure to a lot of different small businesses models from manufacturing to health care to non-profit and some government and k-12 allowing employees to build a broad technology understanding. The environment is fast-paced and there is always something new to learn.

Cons

Sales are the red-headed stepchildren of the company. It doesn't matter how hard you work or how many hours you put in, management tends to be very negative towards the team. Don't expect your paycheck to ever be correct- the system for calculating it is broken and you will have to fight to get paid every month. Your paycheck is also very dependent on the performance of the tech teams; your pay will be docked for sub-par performance but theirs won't. CEO is also a very bad judge of character and hires people with poor personal habits that technically look good on paper and this can affect your commission check as well. The CEO says whatever comes to his head without filter no matter how rude or demeaning it is to the people working so hard for his company. Constantly fluctuating staff creates a roller coaster of ups and downs for customers and sales. There is little opportunity to advance or move into different positions from a sales stand point in the company. Management doesn't celebrate when people move on to new positions but uses it as reasons to put down, blame problems, and belittle the person who used to work there - not a great way to act about a formerly valued employee. Don't bother to put in notice when you leave; they just do a "separation without pay." (yes, a fancy way to say they fire you when you're decent enough to give them notice)

Thank you for your constructive feedback, we're constantly looking for ways to improve. I hope that you are happier with your new employer. Sorry to hear that you felt that way. I know you wanted the sales manager job and didn't get it because the other candidate had more sales management experience. I think it is unfair to say that your commissions were dependent on service.... if you recall, you were paid commission before the projects were complete and billed (so your commission was paid on revenue - GP = commission) so you were never docked commissions for tech performance. I wish you the best of luck in 2017

Large on-call rotation and minimal overtime required if any.

Cons

1. Requires the ability to learn and adapt to new situations quickly. 2. Supporting multiple client environments may be difficult for some. 3. Requires constant study of industry best practices and standards.

Pros

It can be difficult to get started in an I.T. career right out of college. Next I.T. is somewhat lax on their hiring, which is a pro for inexperienced individuals that want the chance to prove themselves. This helped me get started in my career. Everyone that works for the company is extremely helpful.

Cons

I've heard negative comments about the stress of working on the help desk, but I did not experience any issues. Show up on time, wear your uniform, get your work done, and leave. Be patient with the customers and understand their frustrations. Stay cool in stressful situations. As long as you're doing those things, help desk is fine.
