Pros

The work is challenging and keeps me engaged. The tech stack is modern, interesting, and provides great learning opportunities. The team has a strong sense of ownership and takes responsibility for delivering high-quality solutions. There is a collaborative environment where people are empowered to make decisions and drive improvements.

Cons

The product team is not well organized. Lack of planning and clear roadmap. Priorities change too frequently, making it difficult to focus and plan work effectively. Frequent context switching reduces productivity and impacts delivery.Better alignment between product and engineering would improve execution.

Pros

Great team environment – I feel lucky to be surrounded by talented, ambitious, and supportive colleagues who are always willing to share their knowledge. I’ve also made real friends here, not only within my team. Competitive salaries and strong bonus system – every year bonuses are distributed, including in Nexo Tokens, which gives employees the chance to directly benefit from the company’s growth. Excellent benefits – unlimited free food and drinks in the office (it feels like a supermarket), 150 BGN monthly budget to spend on thousands of lifestyle, sport, culture, and hobby options, plus significant discounts through promo codes from partner companies and brands. Clear opportunities for professional growth – if you put in the effort and deliver results, your work is recognized and rewarded.

Cons

Backend developers must participate in 24/7 on-call shifts. The frequency depends on team size, but the compensation for these shifts is relatively low regardless of whether an incident occurs. Limited work-from-home flexibility – the number of days allowed per month depends on your performance in the previous quarter, with a maximum of four. If performance is below expectations, office presence is mandatory. This wouldn’t be a big issue, but the office location can be inconvenient. Heavy monitoring of metrics – sometimes it feels necessary to adapt your work not to deliver the best results, but to make the numbers look good.
