Pros

Before they showed their true colors I thought I was working in a decent company that cared about their employees. I was wrong.

Cons

Management "found" a two private group chats on someone's private discord. Downloaded the entire chats, and then fired the majority of people who had been a in the chats. No investigation was held, no chance was given to defend ourselves. They said we were fired us for one thing in the voice chat, then hours later received termination letters with completely false accusations/reasons on why we were fired. They used screenshots from the chat as proof, but where completely taken out of context, and in my case not even about the company. These chats had been going on for months. The majority of us were remote workers at the time, and were using the chats as a way to connect to our coworkers in a safe management free space. It was the closest way we could get to making friends in a completely isolated work space. They were not impacting our work at all. I got all my work finished on time and most times early. I had never been in trouble prior to this, and in fact the very week before was given a raise. 4 days later I was fired. The management here pretends to be your alley, until you "hurt their feelings". They handled the situation similar to a middle schooler. They looked into an employees private discord account, a place they have no right to be. Then acted on pure emotion and fired the majority of their animation staff with only a weekend of thought behind it. They say the care about their employees and yet they do this. Fire us for making friends, then make up reasons that fall under "gross misconduct" so we can't get unemployment. They say we betrayed their trust. But to me, as our employer, they betrayed ours.

Pros

- Nearly all employees are salary (non-exempt) meaning they can still accrue OT pay. - 120 hours of PTO - Consistent, reasonable work in an entertainment business full of turnover and burnout

Cons

Fully-remote work is not ideal for all employees. Most of the staff prefer it, however, and it saves substantially on office costs.

Pros

- Great coworkers who are as amicable as they are talented. - Flexible hours for remote contractors

Cons

- Sub-industry standard pay - Prioritizes hiring via contracts to avoid providing benefits. - Contractors are hired on a week by week basis despite signing a contract to be with the company for several months with no guarantee that work or payment will be provided during that period. - As an artist you're given only one week to do a volume of work that most other studios give 2-3 months for which degrades the overall quality of the work you can do. You are forced to cut corners or work past 40 hours a week. - Not enough resources are given to help artists meet those deadlines such as proper visual development art for new locations or reference images that aren't from YouTube Let's Plays. - Trend chasing projects with little to no originality. - While not mandated crunch is basically mandated with the limited amount of time to do assignments.
