Great people, terrible leadership - Business Leader New York Islanders Employee Review

Working with the people at the Islanders was genuinely such a great experience. I was excited to come into work every day and help grow the brand. They actively helped me along the way when I had questions and wasn't sure how to do something. I got a lot of real experience on set with professional equipment in live environments. The internship program as a whole was great, as it provided mentorship moments with leaders of the company as well as time to build connections with the other interns. Couldn't recommend it highly enough.

The only real con comes with the nature of working an internship during the offseason. There wasn't necessarily game action, but just about everything else outside of that.

Local to Long Island. Great exposure to the team. Valuable experience in working in a fast-paced, game day environment.

The management team in the retail department is dysfunctional, not understanding, rude, and threatening. They take any joy out of working for a professional sports team. They over work you until they have no more use for you then terminate your position. Zero work/life balance. Strongly recommend having thick skin and incredible work ethic to work here.
