Pros
I have worked at IRIS/PASSCAL. I did not get any work throughout the year, no projects at all, no meetings at all. New Mexico is giving a really great benefits. If you are really old and you dont want to learn anything and sit. This is the right place for you to work with in software group because of some experience people. They are not giving any work to new comers.
Cons
I would say you will learn something wherever you go. I would say I just have seen dirty politics here. I would not give a minus star, if I could. It is good place to work with if you are scietist but not for IT people. They have not allocated any projects throughout the year. I was waiting for it. I was thinking this might be my training period that is why I am not getting any project. I was asking my boss frequently for the projects but he was not giving me any project at all. Somebody else has given a project, I have implemented. At the end I have asked my boss to implement, but he is really cunning guy and did not put live. Higher authorities are good but managers are really ego maniac. They are knowledgable but not a humanity, without any emotion. They are really mean people. They are not providing any updated documentation. If you are new, they will black boxing you. They will not provide any training or information even if you ask them. Yes, but they will pretend to be a good boss as well as they are giving you training and documentation. They will just provide those information which he wants to respond. Interview procedure was really easy. However, their job duties were really different than my experience level or I would say lower level. I have observed that some emails, logs, permissions are being removed from the server side to either hide / remove information or hide his mistakes. No ethics at all because of only one person is working there for 15 years. They are not sending emails of any updates to the employees even if it affects to their employees. Thus, employees get angry on him because of sudden update. When employees ask for help, he is not in the office at that time. Full of politics , it is not a place to grow. Please be careful before you apply here. You will loose your careeer growth here. They already have nine people in software group. They do not have that kind of work at all. I would say be careful before you apply. Worst experience I ever have.
