Pros
I love the team I work with, and like the work that I do. My work feels like it makes a difference and like I'm part of the community.
Cons
Unless you are able to make your way pretty high up, pay is low. While there have been some market adjustments the last couple years,it has not been at a rate that both meets inflation of the cost of living and pays appropriately to the workload and the quality of work required. I know I'm not alone in feeling like I can't afford to live in the same county that I am serving, and I don't know how long I can keep sacrificing work-life balance and still not be able to pay all my bills.
