Pros

There are no pros to working at this company.

Cons

The director of this school only cares about herself and how she can line her pockets with more money. The administration is full of nepotism and they will create jobs that didn't previously exist for family members. They don't actually care about student success, they just want their numbers to look good. If Yolanda doesn't like you, they will create a hostile work environment to try and get you to quit. If they can't get you to quit, they will find a way to get rid of you.

Pros

The staff is full of good people. The school works well for students who have good support at home and have tools for success which makes working with those families a joy. The school has been trying to make positive changes. It's easy to move up if you know the right people.

Cons

From a student perspective: the kids get to hide out and the staff are responsible for their grades. Teachers are supposed to be miracle workers and get every student to pass, including the ones who don't want to and have unsupportive parents. Students are allowed to wait until last minute and pull a Hail Mary with an unreasonable amount of help from the teacher to pass so that the numbers look good for the school. From the staff perspective:The administration plays favorites. They target employees and treat them unfairly to push them to quit. Anyone who makes a formal complaint about administration becomes a target. They do things that will get them sued or in legal trouble once someone speaks out. They prefer staff who may be less qualified in order to save money on salary costs. Their expectations are unreasonable and changes get made quickly without warning. Pay is low compared to other schools. The administration doesn't seem to know how to handle the barriers in student performance that come with being an online school except to blame the teachers. All the school cares about is how they look to the community and board of education. People get promoted into leadership positions because they're someone's wife, more so than because they're qualified.
