Great Team to work with

Not enough money for the work

Having the opportunity to work with amazing clients and help them set goals. I enjoyed getting to know my clients and my direct support staff were well trained and only wanted the best for the clients. It gave me a better insight into mental illness and how it can effect each person's perception.

You will be overworked especially when you are on call once week out of the month, which means you are in charge of four other group homes for 24hrs. A lot of the other group homes were short staffed so I would I have to come in and work shifts that could not be covered after working a 40+ work week. I had to have my work phone on me at all times even when I wasn't on call which means there was no separation from wok and home life. Because of the budget cuts the supervisors work load continued to increase. There was a lack of organization which meant we were trying to find documentation from years ago while trying to keep up with our own extensive documentation. There was so much work to do with too little and not enough pay. Since there was so much disorganization there was a lot of the blame game going around. The place was a revolving door especially for Direct Support Staff members and Residential Supervisors which was not good for the clients because it often caused trust issues and a lack of stability. Maybe things might have improved after I left.
