Pros

Big salaries, unlimited holiday, some nice people

Cons

- Complete lack of psychological safety - CEO mocking the work of juniors behind their backs - 5 star glassdoor reviews that were prompted by HR on a schedule to offset negative reviews (someone spoke out about this being against the spirit of glassdoor, and the response was that HR only wanted 'honest reviews that would help the company) - Lack of trust from leadership - Tech-led to the detriment of other disciplines - DEI being used to make the company look good, unclear if its something that many C-Levels really care about. Incredibly outdated and offensive diversity value document is in place that talks about 'south asian men walking arm and arm with upper class ladies and being shown london' or something ridiculous like that with racist, sexist and colonial undertones. Someone picked up how off-colour this document was, the CEO responded it was out of date and he would change it, but years later it is still in use. - Staff turnover is ridiculous, lots of people leaving citing burnout which is wild given a game has not been launched yet - Outlook for the game is bad, poor data, and roadmapping towards next round of investment not launch - Incredibly insignificant sample groups being used to talk about 'good' KPIs - Team pivoting wildly all over the place as directed by leadership, not spending the time required to observe the results of the pivots - If you join be prepared to crunch through your probation or otherwise have a back up plan in place. It's a 6-month job interview.

Pros

I had a good time working for Netspeak games. Fellow employees are friendly and helpful. The company culture doesn't feel like a cult, its creative and passionate.

Cons

I got released abruptly, despite promised a longer term stay because they ran out of tasks for me. Nevertheless, I got extra pay which gave me a HeadStart for my next search.

Pros

I genuinely enjoyed my time at Netspeak Games. The people here are incredibly nice and supportive, which made the studio feel welcoming from day one. I was able to learn a lot, challenge myself, and really grow in my role thanks to the collaborative environment. Management and leadership were attentive and accommodating, always doing their best to support me and ensure I had what I needed to thrive. It was clear that everyone cared not just about the game we were building, but also about the people making it.

Cons

Like many studios working on something ambitious, there can be fast-paced moments and shifting priorities. It’s not necessarily a downside, but it does mean you’ll need to be adaptable and comfortable with change. At times, tasks and the overall game roadmap could feel a bit vague, which sometimes made it discouraging when the direction wasn’t fully clear. The fast-paced nature of the company also meant there was less time to polish and refine the game as much as we wanted, .
