Pros

Free parking that is about it....

Cons

OK, this company is having issues, they sacked their entire sales staff and wonder why they don't get any sales. The absolute basics of business are being ignored here, cutting the very legs from under it. NSUK may have a good support and marketing staff but with no new companies coming on board because of no sales team wait sorry "customer advisers" this has a knock-on effect too. It's no good having the best marketing team in the world if the customers don't get a service. I've heard of companies waiting months for a solution and by then they have gone elsewhere. Along with no sales team you have Directors trying to sell solutions and you can clearly see that the they is trying to grab the most money from the customer and not provide them with something that they would be happy with. When a member of staff points this out to them and comes up with a better more cost-efficient way they are simply ignored. The solution is installed problems start to happen and customers are then ignored. Until they start getting angry nothing will be done and by this time it’s to late and the customer leaves. For the last couple of years staff have been attending something that is called “state of the nation” where the owner of the company talks about the direction the company needs to go in and how he expects 100% from people and one of the bits of information we keep getting from these events is that a big investment is coming and each “state of the nation” meeting we are being told it’s coming just around the corner and we hear how hard he has been working to get this investment. Well after taking on some board members NSUK lost that investment. Well I guess those directors didn’t give 100% I can only guess at the reason why NSUK lost the investment deal. Most probably because they have seen how the company is being run and very wisely didn't invest! Having a quick look at the owner’s history on company’s house shows you all you need to know.

Pros

The office is ok, and I worked with some great people. Although they have now all left either due to redundancy or escaping to new jobs.

Cons

Where to start..... The main problem with this company (and it's a big problem that's not going anywhere) is the husband and wife "leadership" team. They have no experience of the real world and constantly blame the failings of the business on the people they employ. They regularly get rid of people, not realising that there's been one common denominator over all those years... themselves. Staff turnover is around 50% each year, and yet they still blame everyone else. They are unprofessional, frequently having domestics in the office in front of people, and in one case during my appraisal. Customers are treated badly due to the greed of the owners. Employees are treated like children. As many of the other reviews have stated, new ideas of how to make improvements to the way the business is run are dismissed so as not to damage the MD's ego. If new ideas were welcomed from the very experienced and talented employees, then the business wouldn't be in the state it's in. You can't continue running a failing business, without input and help from the people you employ. There's a reason the MD has been the director of 24 dissolved businesses! Please DO NOT accept a job at Net Support UK or any other business run by Giles Phelps. You'll regret it as dozens have done so before.

Pros

Free parking, fresh fruit, free coffee and tea, great holiday allowance. Some lovely and very smart people there, mostly all gone by now. To pick up some experience in order to build your own career later - it is good enough. Don’t stick around too long though

Cons

There are two things never change, the senior management and the competency of the sales. Management don’t know much about proper ERP systems, they mostly just estinguish fire and trying to get by. Apart from few senior managers and colleagues, I couldn’t find anyone to look up at with genuine respect and trust. I missed that. I don’t think the company itself like changes or investing money into development unless it’s about keeping engineers to maintain core competencies. This company is not willing to grow but filling the owner’s pockets year by year. If you are looking for a company to evolve and grow together with, this is not the best place for you.
