Pros

Exposure to multiple business functions and disciplines so always learning and growing. Really high standards and levels of working and business allows and generally supports employees jumping in at the deep end which with the right support and patience is a positive. Many great colleagues who are willing to share knowledge and offer mentor-ship. Opportunity to engage senior stakeholders and gain exposure. Opportunity to work with other markets and gain knowledge. Mid-level management and CEO are excellent based on my personal experience, but mid-level management are constrained by poor senior level management.

Cons

Lots of red tape, quite political at a senior level. Some great, inspiring Senior Leaders, but also some Senior Leaders who do not inspire, mentor, encourage or coach and often display the opposite of these attributes but appear to be protected from feedback due to their position. Gender pay gap in some positions, frequent downgrading of positions resulting in new hires and contractors being paid a lower wage than existing employees in the same role. Work/life balance is not standard across the business, repeated evening and weekend work is noted but not discouraged. Corporate comms with subliminal messages that seem to encourage evening and weekend work. Overall a good place to work to gain knowledge and skills to further career elsewhere as after knowledge of gender pay gap, low pay versus market avg. and lack of work/life balance it is very easy to become disheartened which then effects motivation and morale. Unfortunately, even when these issues are raised little is done to combat this as the company is simply too big and the business objectives too broad and locked down to change. There is an increasing trend of moving jobs off-shore, not filling vacant positions and passing responsibilities onto existing employees without compensation. These are frequently referred to as "development opportunities" but usually after the employee has proven their capability within 6 or 12 months it does not result in fair compensation that matches the original reward for that role. Historically this results in the employee always playing catch-up in terms of salary as after time they are not compensated accordingly and are valued at less than their worth.
