Pros

Great training, kind coworkers, a real commitment to culture and improvement. Leadership genuinely cares about employees and their growth. There is a fine balance to strike when it comes to managing clients and caring for employees but the leadership is committed to supporting the folks at Nectar. Be Yourself - Nectar has a certain way of doing things and a commitment to a high standard for client work. That being said, the company will never balk at letting even the most junior employees express themselves and their interests. Want to work on a different client? They'll figure it out. Want to give a company-wide presentation on a particular interest? They'll give you a microphone.

Cons

All agencies can be tough and workload is often tied to the whims of challenging clients. Promotions can appear to be tied to account needs and staffing rather than merit. While this is typical of agency life, Nectar does implement a system to allow employees to track their progress effectively and set goals.

Pros

I worked at Nectar off and on for years, first as a full-time employee, and then as a contractor. I certainly wouldn't say that the work was easy -- it's a communications agency, which can mean long hours, weird hours, and client service conundrums. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed every employee that I worked with (and certainly wouldn't have lasted for as long as I did as a contractor if that wasn't the case!), and I appreciated that I honed some incredible skills that I still rely on as I continue my career.

Cons

As I said before, it's a communications agency. I worked some weird hours, BUT I do appreciate that they gave the weird hour projects to me as it enabled me to do more in my contract work.

Pros

Remote, 401K, access to newest technology/software

Cons

Toxic, mean girl culture; routine layoffs and no job security; strange “no boss” structure where decisions are made by votes; unstable client roster; incredibly high turn-over
