Pros

Open, flexible schedule Ability to execute your own ideas Accessible support staff Pay while in training, if all quotas are met

Cons

Very little guidance Use old techniques to teach you to gain clients Managers more concerned with hitting numbers than teaching a skill Main focus on insurance rather than financial planning Broadcasts your salary to everyone in staff meetings Have senior "advisors" (including children of the owner) on your meetings and make you split your commission, but no one returns the favor

Pros

I have/am really enjoyed working at Navigon. The management do a great job of training you as soon as you start. They focus a lot of their time on finding new and better ways to train. As well as helping advisers reach new heights.

Cons

The only downside is the pay. It is commission based and while the upside is massive, it is always hard to reach that potential when you are dealing with clients whom change their mind, or when you have companies that don't want to work with the client. This is not a complaint on them it is just the industry.
