Pros

This has been one of my best jobs I’ve had as far as job security and work life balance. Work life balance did get cut by there being no more telework but the hours are still great. You will meet a lot of people that are very knowledgeable and friendly. There is a lot of potential to move up within the command.

Cons

Management. If you are lucky and have a manager that cares about you and recognizes your hard work and dedication then you will be in good hands, but from I’ve heard others say that is very rare. Too much favoritism within managers and other employees that you won’t get compensated for your hard work. You would have done a lot more work and better work than others and still managers won’t recognize you or reward you if they have their favorites. A lot of politics and kissing as. Because of this hard workers that are not rewarded as they should be will rather stop overachieving and only do that minimum of what they have to since regardless of what they do they won’t be compensated.
