      System Review - Part-Time ESL Teacher Native Camp Employee Review

      Pros

      Native Camp has been the best choice for me. I haven't encountered any difficulties from the application process up to the point when I began teaching. I want to commend the system design, specifically its front end, which really stood out to me. The ease of use and efficiency have significantly helped me adjust easily, and I truly appreciate it. However, I also encountered a few challenges when students chose a textbook, and sometimes I couldn't access it. Despite this, it was manageable. I understand that every system has its strengths and areas for improvement.

      Cons

      From the student side, I think students can rate us even if the lesson time is only one minute or less. It might not be entirely fair because such a short time isn't sufficient to determine whether the teacher is good or not. It would be great if NC could extend the lesson duration to 3-5 minutes because the rating is crucial for us teachers. Anyway, NC is still the best for me.

      Pros

      Job opportunity for people who don't have a degree. They supply videos for you to familiarize yourself with the different lessons. Their communication has a quick turnaround.

      Cons

      Videos cannot actually prepare you for doing the actual lessons. Some sort of interactive system is needed to prepare teachers better for conducting the actual lessons. Communication method on the interface is a bit confusing - I cannot see which messages are unread-even when I toggle the icon to "unread messages"

      Pros

      1. Very flexible platform 2. No minimum hours required 3. mostly polite students 4. lesson material provided

      Cons

      1. The salary is pathetic and it is a shame they are still paying that same rate since they started. 2. They recently introduced a feature where you can adjust your rate but the requirements you should meet first are almost impossible to achieve. 3. very long waiting hours, too many teachers, very few students 4. a biased rating system that punishes teachers
