I had been a loyal agent to Nationwide Logistics (NWL) for approximately 6 years. I switched my book of business from a previous brokerage to NWL because they were constantly calling me offering a 70% commission split with no minimums. I began working for NWL because that was more ideal than my current situation. Overall, I had a great experience with Nationwide for 6 years and averaged anywhere from $2000-$6000 profit a week. Six years later NWL starts requesting that I agree to a new commission structure, 60/40% structure (one that was even worse than my prior brokerage I worked for). This goes against the CONTRACT that they sent me, their Website (read - Agents - brochure), and everything they told me they would do in order for me to switch to them in the first place. I would of been willing to work with them if I needed to improve my work ethic, communication, ect…but in order to keep my agreed to commission structure they wanted profit margins that were over 10% - this would not even be possible with the current or past market we are in the 3PL industry. I would not be able to compete. Also - this goes against everything they told me, and advertised (no minimums - see CURRENT website). I have since moved on to a new Brokerage, but it was very inconvenient, caused drastic financial issues, and has caused me to lose a few very profitable customers!! Long story short - NWL lied to me and was very dishonest. If you are an agent looking to join with them, there are many other brokerages that pay 70% and use the same software. I also would not trust them in general, I would not want anybody else to have to go through what I had done. They simply wanted more money. THEIR BROCHURE, WEBSITE, AND OTHER MARKETING MATERIALS IS A LIE. If you are a current or potential agent or customer please beware!!
