Pros
Remote work, good work-life balance
Cons
Where do I even start? If you work in tech, please don't even think about coming here. I worked with the data team and the relationships are toxic to the max! The leadership says all the big words about building teams with trust and blah blah but they hardly ever follow their words. They blindside people who have worked with them for years. They force people to quit, how worse can you get? They expect people to work to their maximum productivity with this kind of toxic leadership. People are generally nice to work with but because of mistrust created by senior leadership, you really don't want to trust them. They will tell you in a meeting everybody is doing great, the company is going places and the next moment you know - you are about to lose your job. And the icing on the cake—they pay low compared to other companies. So I get paid low with a toxic culture? No, thanks. These kinds of companies need to be called out and other people need to be aware to not throw away years of their into this company that doesn't respect its people. One of the worst decisions I could have ever taken for my career was to choose Nationwide when I was getting offers from other employers. If you have ANY other offer (any!), take that and ditch Nationwide for good. I gave significant time and energy working for the company and all I got was leadership being two-faced about letting people go. They are humans, they have families, think about them?
