Pros

Was job growth potential, now maybe just because my boss in not in the same office so it helps to have a work/life balance. Job growth is only good if you are willing to move to Columbus or some other major city. Heavy coporate politics are now in play and you now have to watch your back because everyone is out for their job. The company still has some good benefits when it comes to time off but the health benefits are lackly. Nationwide is losing good employees to Travelers who pays more and has more benefits than our company.

Cons

We have some of the worst middle and upper management in the US. In my opinion it's the sole reason why we are in the shape were in currently. Management is so far removed from the customer facing employee it is dismal. Our associate directors and directors are so worried about being political they forget that were all in this together and it's actually a good thing to omit that they are worried too. All in our current state need some leadership development. It's always about the number and not about what's right. I am tired of hearing about the number an why all log notes are not in the file versus looking to see if coverage, liability, and the correct payment was issued. It's suppose to be judgement based now but it appears that rules based decisions are here to stay.

Pros

-For the most part, the people you work with are good people. Made real lifelong friends and mentors. -As with all large companies, there are plenty of opportunities to advance and/or move around if something isn't a good fit. -One of the rare places still offering a pention

Cons

-Office politics promote plenty of people who don't deserve it and the teams happiness is highly dependent upon who you end up reporting to -WAY too much false urgency created by bad leaders -Big company means slow moving in all the stuff you want to go fast. Often times too many cooks in the kitchen
