Pros

Nationwide provided a great deal of flexibility with my work schedule. I was able to work from home and modify my hours to have a good life/work balance.

Cons

I came from a very lean corporation prior to Natiowide. I was amazed at the number of Directors, AVPs and VPs at Nationwide. Recently there were consolidations and a reduciton of the officer level. I thought this was needed and long over due. The amazing thing was, that almost everyone that was and officer was made a AVP!!! It was an automatic promotion!! The top just got heavier!! Another reduction came along, once again I thought it was the right thing to do. Once again to my amazement... the population that was reduced were older folks and women. A few months after they were off roll, there were a series of promotions....men and youger employees. The top is now heavier than ever. Promotions are not based upon talent or education.... I challenge you to find an executive with an improessive education. Education is not valued.

Pros

Culture is great, it feels like working with family. I have a good work life balance.

Cons

The pay could be a lot better as the world gets more expensive our pay should reflect that.
