Pros
My supervisors are supportive and work well to accommodate scheduling issues. Is it always perfect? No, but overall I've had a positive interaction with mid-level management. I enjoy what I do and I enjoy the people I work with. I travel 40-50% of the time which has its perks and its costs. If I travel to a cool destination, my supervisor is typically cool if I want to take some PTO and spend an extra day or two there or if I want to spend a weekend there. The lunch program is nice, I'm just not around enough to justify using it.
Cons
Traveling a lot can be difficult and while my supervisor regularly checks to make sure we aren't stretching ourselves too thin, there is the underlying expectation that we need to be traveling more if possible. As a result, being on the road makes balancing work and home life difficult and it means that you put in a lot more than your standard 40 hours/week. The pay isn't the greatest, but at the same time, all my needs are met so I can't complain too much.
