Elite Police...not so elite - Police Officer National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency Employee Review

Pros

pay is ok. hired on only as a Pay Band 2, which makes you the lowest paid employee in the Agency. You do end up with a TS/SCI clearance, which may parlez into different and more satisfying gov't career. you do get to attend FLETC, which is an outstanding federal training center for 90 federal agencies, in Glynco GA.

Cons

Very click-ish. Police agency has been promised increased federal authority for YEARS... always on the Sec's Desk, going to be signed...ink dripping from the end of the pen...but Global events distract, or elections change administration, or some other absolute BS excuse. A thoroughly unsatisfying LE career. Only the miserable remain.

Pros

Great co-workers. Lots of time off

Cons

Poor senior leadership lacks effectiveness. Promotion decisions prioritize diversity objectives over merit, with less qualified junior personnel (mostly female) advanced to Band 4 and Band 5 positions ahead of more qualified candidates. Additionally, daily workloads are insufficient to fill an 8-hour shift.
