Pros

-Flexibility. I was able to assist and observe many different roles within the research team (lab research, research admin/exec, clinical research coordinators). This flexibility is per agreement with my supervisor at the start of the internship. Different teams might offer different experiences.

Cons

-Unpaid internship -As I sought this internship independently after I graduated, it was not a structured internship with decided targets for me to achieve. Because of this, I found it difficult to identify my role as an intern, how I could contribute and what expertise/skill I could gain from the experience.

Pros

Fair annual leave , which increase with year of employment. 13 mth bonus. Performance bonus (0.5 to 2.2 mth range according to performance)

Cons

Need to response email , message and call after working hours, both weekday or weekend and it's not count for overtime and not appreciated as well. Though hospital trying to promote work life balance, some supervisors prefer staff to be contactable anytime. Could be very stress. It's not sustainable in the long run.
