So bad it’s surreal. - Anonymous Nabsys Employee Review

Pros

If you like time traveling, you’ll be transported back into what feels like the 90s the second you walk through the doors: culturally and technologically. The employment rights posters hanging above the trash cans. Airline sized pretzel snacks to keep you energized and an espresso machine that’s sanitary status was questionable. Big lab and cool scientific team. Some people at least try to make it a good working environment.

Cons

This is just your first step in due diligence into looking into this organization before you join. This is the first review in almost 10 years: this company feels beyond terrible, dysfunctional, and toxic to work at that it could one day actually be studied. I don’t recommend working here. It’s 2024 and there are many great organizations to work at— would consider this the polar opposite side of the spectrum. On your first day, you’ll be merrily greeted with (what feels like) 100 different onboarding docs that you’ll fill out by hand. Then, your onboarding is done. Over the next few days you’ll most likely begin the stages of grief for accepting a role here. You might begin to wonder how there are so many “leaders” in this top-heavy org yet nothing gets done. You’ll come to the office and work so hard then turn around and sit on zoom calls with people across the country and probably ask yourself if they know anything about running a company or about the technology at all. Every day feels more frustrating than the last. They’ll tell you about the great traction but lack to see that materialize. Personally, my work-life balance is non existent, low team morale, terrible culture. You’re better off anywhere else.

Pros

Exciting technology, highly intelligent and creative people, challenging and dynamic environment, some flexibility and freedom to pursue new ideas and projects, good work-life balance, good location near downtown Providence - good restaurants & cafes within walking distance

Cons

Poor downward communication (senior management to lab scientists and engineers), not enough of the decision making is done by staff scientists -- too much by senior management, poor decisions made by Board of Directors
