Pros
Pay and benefits are good compared to other government employment. Work/life balance. Some people you’ll work with are smart and kind and you can learn from them.
Cons
There is more effort put into the façade they want to portray. This leads to a lot of fakeness, passive-aggressive actions, intense micromanagement, and just flat out mistreatment. A significant amount of management don’t model the stated values and aren’t held accountable for anything. Some people are allowed to run amok at the expense of others. A lot of talk of excellence but at the same time indulging people who want to keep everything the way it is/was even if it’s clearly wrong. You aren’t considered a team-player if any of this bothers you. To survive you’ll have to conform.
