Pros

Casual attire and location etc. Other than that, can't think of anything.

Cons

Dictatorship. Limited access to smart people. Salary is low, benefits non existent. Culture is too serious and restrictive. Strangest work environment I even worked in. Firm wants everyone to work for free to make owner a rich man.

We have internally discussed your review and have found no basis, facts or sentiments from other employees that support your negative statements. Our base compensation is commensurate with other financial service firms, if not outright generous. We promote a meritocracy as all employees enjoy valuable benefits including equity participation (RSPs), a 401k profit sharing plan and the opportunity to earn a substantial living based on performance. You sound like the same person that wrote a prior review or a temp that was not offered a full time position.

Pros

I am trying to find another job, the negative reviews do not help. Hopefully the headline rating will improve and no one will read the poor underlying reviews.

Cons

I have nothing negative to share that the other reviews have not covered, extensively.

Pros

Exposure to high level financial products. Collaborative work environment that is ultimately rewarded when work product is good. Casual work environment, but professionalism is expected. Great firm with upward mobility potential. Former employees that write defamatory reviews are not indicative of the firm and/or culture. Knowing who the employees are (not hard to figure out considering it is such a small firm and the terminations were in close proximity to the reviews) it is not surprising that they took to an anonymous forum to voice their discontent. The fact of the matter is, after given ample time and opportunity to prove their worth they were unable and found wanting. The aforementioned employees, though presenting well in interviews, subsequently had a cursory understanding of the finance world, let alone a niche area such as Secondary PE. These two (un)professionals are unlikely to give a good read on the state of offerings from the firm, as they had 0 active clients and showed little to no ability to attain certain benchmarks.

Cons

Because it is such a small firm, vacation days are few and far between.
