Pros

Great base pay Great benefits with paid for healthcare and dental Unlimited PTO was also good and I was able to take time off without questions asked. Some of the people I work with are awesome and very smart Very hands off approach that let you do whatever you want need to do

Cons

Cronyism is rampant. You can do a quick linkedin search to see that the entirety of senior and executive leadership and even directors are all from the same one or two companies for multiple years. Unless you're part of this boy's club, your opinion will not matter and you will be the first on the chopping block as the company continues to spiral downhill. I've seen managers disagree with their own engineers and do a complete 180 when their favorite person happens to side with the engineer. The favoritism displayed would make you wonder what kind of blackmail they have on each other. Earlier last year they've laid off roughly 30% of their full time staff and a month later they laid off another 30% of their contractor staff. This is not to mention after claiming the company was doing well financially and after a multi-dozen person effort to fix leadership's failure of a bank launch for a major investor. To thank the people that stayed up countless nights, they were laid off a few short weeks later. This year, they've decided to silently lay individuals off instead of a company wide announcement due to the lack of sales and increasing difficulty for this company to turn a profit. If you're worried about job security and stability I would stay away from this place. While the pay was nice, you'll be treated no better than a temp worker and have your position eliminated when the work is done. Leadership will constantly lie to you at every turn and put you out of a job just to pay their buddies their bonuses. Management and leadership will take all credit and it's the same few people who get the recognition despite not being able to do any of the work themselves. For example, the lead for the development of the banking software has never professionally coded before and managed to get hired. This example perpetuates to most of the other departments. It's completely illogical to have people lead the technology departments while not even be able to explain what's happening on a day to day. There's 0 accountability. The negatives on every review here and so so so true and can not be overlooked.

Dear Former Employee, Thank you for taking the time to express some concerns during your time at Nymbus. First off, I'm glad to hear you felt the compensation, benefits and PTO were great during your employment. With regards to the claim of cronyism, we pride ourselves on our robust Referral Program that incentivizes people to refer other folks they've had positive relationships with. We firmly believe great people know other great people which is why we get a lot of our great hires from our Referral Program. With that being said, as a start-up that was in growth mode, a lot of our Leaders were tasked with growing their teams and referred in folks they worked with from other previous businesses. Although you may feel they get preferential treatment, that is not the case at all and we strive to take performance based factors as well as taking creative ideas into play when promoting from within irregardless of previous employment. I am sorry you felt Nymbus quietly had layoffs this year and were not transparent during the process, however, our involuntary attrition this year has been hovering around 6% and are currently looking to backfill most roles of individuals that leave us for other opportunities. I truly hope your next opportunity is a positive one and good luck with everything in the future. Thank you and good luck!

Pros

Great opportunities to develop and grow your career. Above market pay and benefits. Building unique and differentiated solutions for an evolving banking industry.

Cons

The speed and pace are not for everyone - must be comfortable engaging and raising your hand. If not, you could feel left behind. Sometimes slow to let go of legacy minded staff who can’t evolve.
