Pros
Applies to non bargaining unit: Unless the job requires very specialized skills, degree, etc. (attorneys, engineers, etc.), NW Natural tends to hire internally and is very good about getting you the training you need (as long as you're in one of the departments that has a training budget - I understand that some don't).
Cons
Many areas are perpetually understaffed, which means there are many people that are supporting many different subject areas. If you're one of these people, there are times you might be overworked. The upside to this is that there are a lot of learning opportunities and you gain skills in different realms.
