On-site perks overshadowed by favoritism and high costs - Patient Scheduler NKC Health Employee Review

Pros

Pros would be on-site pharmacy, on-site cafeteria and covered parking.

Cons

The employee insurance is expensive and barely covers anything, seeing a doctor at the same place you work at costs $200+ visit after insurance. Favoritism is very normal here and it is bad, especially in my department. I feel very invisible and unappreciated working here and there is zero room for growth in my department. Annual raises are a sad joke and don't keep up with the cost of living or the yearly price increase of employee benefits. They give you a 20 cent raise and after the price increase of everything else, you technically end up not getting a "raise" at all.

Pros

Exceptional support from upper leadership with consistent effort to actually understand frontline workers. For a large hospital it feels like a small town where you really know people. Many rewards for taking care of patients.

Cons

Health insurance has its limitations but that seems to be the norm for hospitals nowadays.

Pros

Training, teamwork, learning opportunities, manager

Cons

Health Insurance plan isn’t great at all if you need to see providers outside NKCH. Customer service from health insurance administration is extremely unresponsive. Culture at some clinics is very toxic.
