Pros

At one point NJVC had some of the best talent money could buy. It was truly a WONDERFUL place to work.

Cons

The biggest factor in the failure of this company is the CEO and decisions made without and against senior staff recommendations. I have seen repeated efforts to challenge some clearly uninformed and unintelligent decisions made at the top. Not once or twice (I mean who hasn't screwed up before?)...but many, many of them. Unfortunately, the cocky and self congratulatory manner in which these decisions have been and continue being made is not only jeopardizing the corporation, but the lives of really faithful employees and their families. The hiring of people who have little or no experience, or are moved into roles that they are completely unprepared for because they have friendly relationships will doom this company. Hemorrhaging of money in the direction of the same type of consultants who over promise and under deliver will doom this company. Fear and bending to the will of a terrible leader because you are afraid to lose your job will doom this company. Building a huge palace of an office that will house few soldiers will doom this company. Not listening to smart senior leaders will doom this company. Constant re-orgs and shifting of roles and managers will doom this company. You will continue to lose the talent, you will continue to spin your wheels, and you will continue to kill the spirit of the people you have left.

Pros

I was fortunate enough to work in one of the better business units, which meant working with very knowledgeable people and a free-flowing exchange of ideas and information. Good people, good morale, flexible hours, competitive salary.

Cons

Current/new employees are paying for the mistakes the company made in the past. In recent years, the company promoted people simply for being on the payroll longer than others, that logic has come back to haunt them. Employees who have worked hard to achieve industry certifications and/or Bachelor's/Master's degrees are barely even recognized let alone promoted. Those that are left behind are hoarding information and stonewalling processes in an effort to keep their jobs.
