Pros

U get to buy Nike products at disc dats it

Cons

Here it goes Seeing another employee recently posted on the 7th Dec it's time for me to let the cat out of the bag as well Used to work for them in 2021, I have vast experience spanning more than a decade, but they said I have to start from the bottom, which I reluctantly accepted. I was part of the VM team, and we had daily and weekly changes. 1) Every time I made some changes it was always wrong, later it seems the person in charge just doesn't like my style but when others copy dat look it seems fine. Fyi I have done VM for big high-end brands. Now I see My style of VM everywhere in Nike (layering/mix of colours/etc) 2)I also have friends from the media/nightlife scene but when I invited them down to the company store to shop in where they spend a huge amount, they were assumed as resellers. The management would gossip dat to the rest of the team. Hello?! These are celebrities who rock Nike! Why would u assume such things? Is it coz of jealousy I have such VIPs?! 3)if u rock/flex which coz u love fashion, u tend to be single out as resellers what not?! Simply representing Nike! 4)How does the public know of releases in the morning when we as staff weren't informed?! The usual faces dat came in the morning as of affiliations to the store in charge?! But when staff make purchases, they are flagged for it! 5) Store in charge speaks native language to other colleagues of the same nationality?! 6)staff dat can excel be it customer service/sales or simply get the limelight would be thrown under the bus to prevent progression except for her own affiliations?! 7)cliques of her own affiliations are then gathered to pick on staff and complain to throw them under the bus?! 8)Even on off days do I need to attend meetings via Zoom/Teams?! It's off day for goodness sake! 9) Yes black books on staff made but it wasn't proper documentation, more of hearsay and whatnot/personal dislikes not much proper work related.

Pros

Working at Nike was a great experience overall. The company culture is energetic, inclusive, and team-oriented. Management encourages employees to embody the Nike brand and provides opportunities for growth within retail and corporate roles. Employee discounts are excellent and make it easy to enjoy the products you sell. The work environment is fast-paced, especially during launches and holiday seasons, which keeps the job engaging. I also appreciated working alongside passionate teammates who genuinely cared about customer service and creating a positive shopping experience.

Cons

Retail schedules can be inconsistent and often include nights, weekends, and holidays. During peak periods, the store can become extremely busy, which can be stressful when balancing customer service expectations with operational tasks. Advancement opportunities can vary depending on store location and management structure.
